Bishops Rowing Dinner & Auction
The Bishops Rowing Club (BRC) is hosting its annual rowing dinner. An opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the triumphs, the lows, the sacrifices and the friendships of the season. Alongside the dinner is an auction, to raise much-needed funding for the acquisition of equipment for our beloved sport.
This year we invite parents, auction enthusiasts and Old Diocesans to contribute towards a new project, building a rowing tank on the Bishops Campus.
Rowing Tank Rationale
A rowing tank is an indoor rowing facility that attempts to mimic the conditions rowers face on the open water. Think of it like a cricket net for cricketers, or a scrumming machine for rugby players. A rowing tank would be a primary tool for our BRC coaches to break down the mechanics of the stroke in a stable learning environment. Whether brand new, or very familiar with the sport, everyone can benefit from instruction while using this state-of-the art facility.

Current challenges to the club include:
- Low retention of boys throughout high school
- Time spent during water sessions due to travelling & weather
- Limited physical presence on the school campus
- Access to lots of time on the water not always possible
Quite simply, these challenges mean our boys don’t train enough, don’t get enough time on the water and the club is losing younger boys to other sports.
This new asset to the school will strengthen our competitive position while elevating our positioning as a rowing school.

How do I Bid?
Please visit our online auction page, register and start bidding. There is something for everyone – hampers, wine, accommodation, restaurant vouchers and even an opportunity to name one of the boats in our Bishops rowing fleet.

The online auction will be live until 20h45 on the evening of our annual rowing dinner on 22 March 2022, but get your bids in early! Register and you will receive email updates of the items you are bidding on, giving you the opportunity to bid more if you are outbid!
Certain items will be pulled from the online auction and auctioned live at the dinner. You will need to contact your BRC contact or representative should you wish to bid on a specific item, but not attending the dinner.
