We played 71 matches this term: won 47, drew 9 and lost only 15.

7ths, 4ths, 3rds, 14D and 14C team were unbeaten- what an amazing feat!
14B, 15B and 5ths only lost one game each.

We have 172 boys playing waterpolo as their summer sport, with 7 open teams and 7 u14 and u15 teams. It is great to see how popular the sport is at Bishops.

We also have a keen group of amateur referees who will be trained by Dasch Barber and the willingness of so many boys to help out with “table” is encouraging to see.

Liam Neill, Zack Herberstein, Andie During and Kimon Haralambous were selected for the Western Province u18 team to participate in the March Currie Cup.

Keanan Alexander was selected for the Western Province Men’s team to participate in the March Currie Cup.

Kimon Haralambous and Andie During were selected for the South African u18 team to participate in a qualifying tournament against Zimbabwe and Egypt over the last weekend. They beat Zimbabwe convincingly and lost narrowly to Egypt twice.

The Bishops 13A, 14A, 15A and 1st team all qualified for the semi-finals of the interschools competition at Newlands. They were all successful and it was absolutely amazing to have a Bishops team in every final. The 13A and 14A teams finished with silver and the 15A and 1st team finished with gold. It is only the 3rd time in a 40 year history that Bishops have won the 15A and 1st team titles and it was the FIRST time in a 40 year history that Bishops won both the 15A and 1st team title in the same year. Well done to all the boys, Max Herberstein, Dave Mallett, Jenny Campbell, Greg Mallett and Duncan Woods on making history!

The support from Bishops was overwhelming and we thank all the cheerleaders and boys who came to watch and cheer.

15A team won Gold at the Parktown Tournament with Brandon Burke being named “Player of the Tournament”

14A team won bronze at the Jeppe Tournament with Matt Klingenberg being named “Defender of the tournament”

Kimon Haralambous named in the “Tournament Team” at the KES tournament.

The 1st team played in the KES tournamnt, winning 3/6 fixtures. Unfortunately we lost our quarter final to St Andrews by one goal and we ended up 7th. Kimon Haralambous made the Tournament Team which is fantastic.

The 15A played in the Parktown tournament, were UNBEATEN and won the final against SACS 6-3. It is the first time they have beaten SACS in their high school careers. It is also the first time Bishops have won this tournament. Brandon Burke was nominated as the Player of the Tournament- a huge honour.

The 14A played in the Jeppe Tournament and finished 3rd. They had some fantastic wins, but unfortunately came up against a powerful Rondebosch side in the semi-finals and had to play for 3rd/4th. Matt Klinkenberg was nominated as Defender of the Tournament- another huge achievement.
